My Favorite Madewell Finds

9.3.2018

Last weekend I did a pop-up sale at Madewell in Berkeley, and let me tell you, mix up some Third Culture donuts, Madewell duds, and my jewelry and MAN do you have a party. This is the second pop-up I’ve done at Madewell and it was even more fun than the first, if you can believe it. The Madewell aesthetic goes so well with my brand that both times we’ve had similar styling and table display elements. It’s almost hard to tell where my table ends and the rest of the store begins.

That is to say, I’m a huge fan of Madewell’s simple, modern designs and perfectly fitted jeans. In addition to some pics from the event, I thought I’d share some of my favorite Madewell pieces and some things in store now that I’m dying to get my hands on.

These coveralls--a collaboration between Madewell and As Ever--shot to the top of my “must have” list when I saw Mandy Moore and friends rocking them on Instagram. I love a good jumpsuit for the ease of getting dressed and the inexplicable cool factor of wearing a slightly childlike outfit as a definite adult. It’s loose but hugs in all the right places. And the oversized pockets are perfect for holding all my stuff at events.

A new addition to my wardrobe, the Canvas Transport Tote is just the right size and comes in my favorite rusty orange color. Large enough to fit my laptop, water bottle, and a few supplies (we don’t have time for the “what’s in my bag” rundown right now, but trust me, it’s a lot), it’s also sleek and sturdy since it’s made out of durable canvas. Nicer than your average tote. Classic Madewell.

Finding the right jeans is almost a lifelong pursuit, and I sure went through some duds before finding the magic of Madewell. Their jeans have a huge fan base thanks to their perfect fit and classic styles. I have several pairs, but my go-to is the slim straight (currently on sale!) in Forster wash with ripped knees. These babies dress me up when I’m feeling blah and go with literally everything.

I often wear this silk bandana as a bag accessory (see: my entire trip to Todos Santos), but it also lends a nice French-girl-chic vibe when tied around the neck. There are several new styles available now. I’m considering adding a pink polka dot one to my collection.

Madewell’s shoes are, well, made really well. I’ve had this pair for years and they’re still going strong. The block heel means all-day comfort and the style just doesn’t get old. These are one of my favorite shoes for a dressy summer look.

So, those are my favorites, but I’ve always got my eye on a few things I’d like. Right now, the Karen Walker collab is killing me with amazingness. Her geometric, modern eyewear is recognizable from a distance, and pairing that aesthetic up with Madewell for a curated selection of clothing turned out so, so well. I need the garment-dyed sweatshirt in my life. I’d love to round out my overalls collection with their black skinny overalls, and the new eco collection jeans make my earth-loving heart happy. Not one to play it safe with sunglasses, I’m planning to snag a pair of Halliday sunglasses in raisin tort, too.

Thanks to everyone who came to see me at my pop-up! I had so much fun hanging out in store and chatting about my jewelry making process. Many of the items shown here, including a bunch of new earrings, are available made-to-order in my Etsy shop now. I’ll be doing more events this fall as well--check my events page for more details. Hope to see you there!
