Moonwalker Things started out as a creative outlet for me—a place to try new ideas and explore my interests. Once my focus began to narrow in on a more defined aesthetic, it felt good. Like my business was becoming more real and professional and my vision was finding its way out into the light.

But that focus also came with a drawback—now it feels harder to try new things without the fear of repercussions, like a product that d...

Last weekend I did a pop-up sale at Madewell in Berkeley, and let me tell you, mix up some Third Culture donuts, Madewell duds, and my jewelry and MAN do you have a party. This is the second pop-up I’ve done at Madewell and it was even more fun than the first, if you can believe it. The Madewell aesthetic goes so well with my brand that both times we’ve had similar styling and table display elements. It’s almost hard to tell w...

This Sunday, May 13th, I’ll be celebrating Mother’s Day with my friends at Madewell with a pop up shopping event in their San Francisco store. Come by to see new necklaces and earrings, ceramic knots and incense holders, and grab some tasty snacks and sips.

I’m pretty thrilled to be working with Madewell. It’s a test of personal willpower for me to walk in front of one of their stores and not go in, much less get out without bu...

Last weekend I participated in the Laurel Makers Market, a small craft fair in my own Oakland neighborhood, the Laurel District. I really love being able to support the neighborhood I live in and hopefully encourage local spending and growth. It was so fun to see friends and meet new people, and I got some awesome (and helpful!) feedback on my new necklace, earring and ceramic designs. Lots of folks were really interested in t...

I’m so excited to share that Moonwalker Things will be available at a cool new shop in Berkeley called Indigo Vintage Cooperative this May. As a co-op, the shop will feature a rotation of small businesses and makers each month as well as some permanent brands. You’ll find a curated selection of vintage, jewelry, clothing, apothecary products and home decor.

The shop owners have been hard at work prepping the space for the grand...

For the last few months I’ve been researching knots. My old friend the library hooked me up with a few books that approach the topic from a variety of angles -- the captivating and truly entertaining “Why Knot?” by famed high-wire walker Philippe Petit, an Outward Bound guide to knots used for adventure activities like climbing and camping, and a poetic tribute / functional guide to the art of knots for sailors called “The Rig...

People tend to have mixed feelings about Valentine’s Day. Some love the chance for romance, some hate the commercialism. For me, it’s taken on a new meaning. As of Valentine’s Day 2018, I will have been in business for one whole year.

I’ve got to say, I’m generally good with math, but this date really snuck up on me. I only registered the significance recently and then had a little teary moment thinking of all that’s happened i...

Guess what? I still love moons! Didn’t see that coming, did you? I kid, I kid. My moon obsession is not waning anytime soon. Get it - waning? Alright, I’ll stop with the moon jokes and instead show you some new ring dishes I just added to my shop featuring hand-painted moon shapes.

These little guys were fun to make. An incredibly specific task that I found I really enjoy is hand drawing circles. Weird, right? There’s something...

Scent is the sense most strongly tied to a feeling of home for me. Burning incense and candles makes a space feel so much more full and comfortable, and the scent memory of favorite smells can be really strong and comforting.

For our wedding, my husband and I chose new perfume/cologne to wear for the first time that day. The happy flashbacks I get from putting on that perfume (I chose Kai, and he went with Juniper Ridge’s Big S...

I spend a long time shaping each piece of clay. Pushing it, molding it, firing and glazing it. Weeks later, out comes a new piece, shiny with promise. But then I often get stuck in the creative process, overwhelmed with options for how to finish each necklace or earring set.

You know that feeling when you walk into a department store and realize it will take you 100 years to look at every option before making a decision? Just...
